Many Puget Sound CtS enthusiasts get to CtS via the Inner Passage, which is an alternative route to an alternative route (Hwy 26) to the main route (I-90). Well, I went one step further and ran a bunch of gravel roads on the way over- which means I was taking the alt-alt-alt route. My roads reached an end when I got near Potholes Reservoir. I was south of the reservior, which is where the actual potholes are- lakes that just start appearing from nowhere.

The gravel road I was on suddenly went down a steep grade, over a little swampy section, then I was at the water. Very beautiful, in a rugged way.
