Camouflaging a Pelican camera case
This started out as a black Pelican 1400 case. I wanted to carry our Canon T1i/500d without it looking flashy and expensive- thus guarding against a crime of opportunity.
I prepped the case with a Scotch-Brite pad, then sprayed over it with Bulldog adhesion promoter, then sprayed it with a can of SEM Color Coat.
To make it look worn, I used a screwdriver for scratches, bowled it down the driveway and street to wear the edges, and tumbled it with a Bungee cord attached to knock down the edges. I then used overspray of some other colors, dripped and flicked some paint onto it, then finally used some overspray of the flat tan color over it all.
The final bit of camouflage is the sideways lettering of number 42. The number has some mild significance, but it's also a sufficiently random number to help it look generic.

Some people may be wondering why I'd share the photos of this. Remember the goal is to prevent opportunistic crime. If you know what the contents of the case are, it isn't going to stop you anyhow.
