We didn't want to stay on Baja Highway 1 the entire trip down Baja, so we planned a route over Ojos Negros to San Felipe, down to Puertecitos, and then the gravel stretch through Coco's Corner and back to the highway. |
This gravel run should take 2-4 hours. We spent about 7 riding hours on it, sheared the centerstand off, had about 4 major drops, and had a generally miserable time. Apparently the reason it was so rough is that the Baja 1000 race tore it up very recently. I've never been on such a bad gravel road- I wish I'd never taken it. |
The highlight of the trip was staying with Coco at Coco's Corner. His humble little patch of earth should be visited by all adventure riders that go to Baja. |
